The analysis
The study has been conducted through an extensive benchmarking analysis focused on the balance sheets and management KPIs of the main Italian, European and international contemporary museums, supported by a substantial series of individual interviews with renowned professionals in the museum sector. The analysis examined the positioning of the Centro Pecci in the Italian contemporary art scene and its evolution over the last few years, highlighting the strengths and weaknesses with respect to its competitors and foreshadowing possible areas of intervention aimed at relaunching the Prato institution.
Methodology
The survey methodology made use of different tools:
Benchmark analysis of best cases and budgets
(over 35 museums), to derive comparable data on cultural, exhibition and educational activities, as well as to acquire management indicators and KPIs.
In-depth interviews
(33 interviews with experts in the field), to obtain qualitative data on the reputation and perception of the Centre among the most qualified representatives of the contemporary art system at regional and national level.

(5 social channels), to understand the presence and dynamics of the digital transformation strategy.
